Want coaches who:

  • Are good people who will provide a positive environment

  • Have previous experience coaching hockey, preferably female hockey

  • Have the required certification or higher or are committed to obtaining the certification by the required deadline

  • Are committed to the team and the development of the athlete and the team

  • Respect the game, the opponents, and the officials

We will strive to grow the female coaching community by:

  • Providing female coaches who have the equivalent experience and certification as a male counterpart priority in coaching selection, also taking into consideration proper fit.

  • Providing young or inexperienced female coaches with the opportunity to be ‘paired up’ where possible with another female coach

  • Providing young or inexperienced female coaches with the opportunity to coach with minimum travel (U7 and U9)

  • Providing all female coaching certification clinics (where possible)

  • Providing female coaching mentorship opportunities (where possible)

We will support coaches by:

  • Providing financial support for all required certification

  • Considering financial support for additional certification opportunities

  • Providing coaching resources (pucks, pylons, boards, development tools, etc.)

  • Providing opportunities for mentoring when requested
